Thomastik Infeld THPI-03A violin string D-3 4/4, synthetic core, silver wound

The Thomastik Infeld THPI-03A D-3 4/4 is a violin string with a synthetic core and silver winding, designed for the full-size 4/4 violin. This string offers direct bow response and a wide dynamic range, allowing subtle articulations to be clearly heard without exaggerating the volume. The synthetic core ensures stable intonation throughout the register, while the silver winding produces a bright, sparkling tone that is easy to control in chamber music and orchestral situations. The softer left-hand feel assists with fast passagework and provides a reliable foundation for long rehearsals.

Ideal for violinists seeking a tone that balances warmth and clarity and demands consistent performance across a wide range of playing situations. Whether playing solo, in a string quartet, or in a symphony ensemble, this D string delivers responsiveness and tuning confidence, allowing you to focus on interpretation and nuance while making music. The PI Signature quality stands out for its richness of tone color and the smoothness with which both soft and powerful accents are delivered, giving every performance its own distinct, refined timbre.
