Frequently asked questions about keyboards
Is a keyboard suitable for beginners and children?
Is a keyboard suitable for beginners and children?
Yes. With a keyboard, you can learn to play melodies, chords, and rhythms. You can start out simply and use more features later on. When choosing, pay attention to the number of keys, touch sensitivity, and a clear control layout. We are happy to help you choose a model that fits your age, experience, and budget.
What is the difference between a keyboard and a digital piano?
What is the difference between a keyboard and a digital piano?
A keyboard often offers various instrument sounds, rhythms, and automatic accompaniment. This is useful if you want to play along with an accompaniment or explore different musical styles. A digital piano focuses primarily on piano sound and piano playing and typically has heavier, weighted keys.
How many keys do I need?
How many keys do I need?
For many beginners and for playing songs, a keyboard with 61 keys is sufficient. With 76 or 88 keys, you have more room for elaborate parts with both hands. Which number suits you depends on the music you want to play. The number of keys can be found in the specifications.
Why are velocity-sensitive keys important
Why are velocity-sensitive keys important
Touch-sensitive keys respond to how softly or forcefully you play. This allows you to add more feeling and variety to your music. Even as a beginner, this helps you practice controlling your touch. Check the specifications to see if this keyboard has touch-sensitive keys.
Can I practice with headphones
Can I practice with headphones
That is possible with models that have a headphone jack. With the speakers off, you can listen to your playing yourself while housemates read or watch television in the meantime. Check which connection the keyboard has so that you can choose a suitable pair of headphones.
What do I need to get started right away?
What do I need to get started right away?
A sturdy keyboard stand and a seat at the right height will help you play comfortably. Headphones and a suitable sustain pedal can be useful. Check the product description to see which accessories and power supply are included. This way, you will know what you still need to buy separately.
