The StewMac SM13604 Refret Saw is specifically designed for precisely cleaning and deepening fret slots, even on bound fingerboards. With a 0.46mm (0.018") blade thickness, this saw produces perfectly clean slots, resulting in better-fitting frets and faster fretting. Developed by fretting expert Dan Erlewine, this saw offers exceptional precision thanks to its unique dual blade design: one for pull and one for push.
The compact blades allow you to gently remove old glue residue and wood dust without widening the slot—ideal for delicate refret jobs on radiused or bound fingerboards. With an overall length of 24 cm and a comfortable wooden handle, this saw is an excellent choice for luthiers seeking control and refinement during the refret process.
